Disaster Services
For over 100 years the American Red Cross has been assisting people affected by disasters. The successful work of the Red Cross is made possible by thousands of volunteers and the generous financial contributions of the American people.
The Red Cross doesn't wait until disaster strikes. It is prepared to respond to hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, fires, hazardous materials incidents, and other disasters. In fact, the Red Cross responds to more than 55,000 disasters every year. And when a disaster strikes, the Red Cross responds immediately. It does not need a government request to move into action. It does work, however, in cooperation with the government and other organizations to provide assistance. For more information on Red Cross disaster services, click here. Health & Safety Services
The American Red Cross is your most trusted source for CPR, First Aid and AED training for individuals, groups or businesses. It is recommended that one person in every household be CPR and First Aid trained. For class times and descriptions, click here.

24 hours a day, your Red Cross will send messages regarding family emergencies.
Today's American Red Cross is keeping pace with the changing military. Using the latest in computer and telecommunications technology, the Red Cross allows military members stationed all over the world to send messages to loved ones back home during an emergency or other important events. These communications are delivered around-the-clock, seven days a week, 365 days a year. While serving 1.4 million active duty personnel, the Red Cross also reaches out to the 1.5 million members of the National Guard and the Reserves who reside in nearly every local community in America. Hundreds of Red Cross chapters brief departing service members and their families regarding available support services and explain how the Red Cross may assist them during the deployment. Both active duty and community-based military can count on the Red Cross to provide emergency communications that link them with their families back home, access to financial assistance, counseling, and assistance to veterans.
