CPR/AED & First Aid Courses

Community First Aid & Safety

A nine-hour course that includes Adult/Child CPR/AED (automated external defibrillator), Infant CPR, and First Aid. These classes are taught as a two-evening class or on Saturdays.
Fee $60


Spanish RCP y Primeros Auxilios

Curso de 9 horas. Certifica a las personas en RCP para Adulto, nino e infante y Primeros Auxilios.

Child/Infant CPR & First Aid

A seven-hour course that includes Infant and Child CPR and First Aid. This course is ideal for new parents, day-care providers, schoolteachers, and anyone else who works with children. These classes are taught as a two-evening class or on Saturdays.
Fee $50


CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer/Healthcare Provider

An eight-hour course that certifies individuals in Adult, Infant & Child CPR, two-man CPR, bag-valve mask, resuscitation mask and AED. This class exceeds Basic Life Support (BLS) requirements. A two-evening course.
Our professional rescuer courses are designed for people with job-related duties in emergency preparedness and response. This includes nurses, law enforcement and EMS personnel, fire fighters, business and industry response teams, lifeguards, flight attendants, and others who must take action in emergency situations.
Fee $65


Workplace Adult CPR/AED/First Aid

A seven-hour course that includes Adult CPR/AED (automated external defibrillator) and First Aid. These classes are taught as a two-evening class or on Saturdays.
Fee $75


CPR/AED ONLY

A six-hour course that certifies individuals in Adult, Infant & Child CPR. These classes are taught on Saturdays or as a two-evening class.
Fee $65


First Aid ONLY

A three-hour course. Certifies individuals in Basic First Aid. These are taught as evening classes.
Fee $40


Challenge Course

Length varies according to certification being challenged. Course is designed as an accelerated way of recertifying. The participant will be required to demonstrate the practical skills and written tests with no instruction.
Fee $30


Emergency Response

A 60-hour course. The course is comparable to EMT level (without the ambulance or pharmaceuticals). This is our most advanced class.
Fee $290


Babysitter’s Training Course

A 12-hour course for children ages 11-15. This class certifies children in Infant & Child CPR and First Aid Basics. It prepares students for medical emergencies and teaches babysitting skills and basic child care (diapering, meal preparation, and discipline). Fee $50. Taught as a two-evening course or on Saturdays.

CPR/First Aid Instructor Courses

Instructor Candidates must complete a skills and knowledge assessment prior to completing the Instructor portion of the course. Candidates who can not pass this pre-course assessment will not be allowed to complete the remainder of the Instructor course at this time. Candidates are encouraged to complete the participant level of the course prior to completing the Instructor course. For more information please contact our Health & Safety Staff at (801) 373-8580.


Lay Responder Instructor Course

A 26-hour course. This course is required for anyone planning to teach any of the American Red Cross Health and Safety classes. Current certification in CPR and First Aid is required. Course includes all instructor and participant manuals. Candidates receive two different certifications: Community First Aid & Safety and CPR/AED for the Workplace.
Fee $220


CPR/AED Pro Instructor Bridge

(An optional certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, may be included for an additional $50 and is taught on Saturday morning.)


ER Instructor Course

A 26-hour course. Successful completion of Emergency Response training required for participation.
Fee $175

Once Instructors Candidates have completed the Emergency Response Instructor course they will be certified to teach the following Red Cross programs:

  • Emergency Response Course
  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer/Healthcare Provider
  • CPR/AED for the Lifeguard (not the Lifeguarding class itself)
  • Oxygen Administration
  • Bloodborne Pathogens (Preventing Diseases Transmission)
  • Asthma Inhaler
  • Epinephrine Auto-Injector (Epi Pen)

Emergency Response Instructors may also self study to teach the following programs:

  • First Aid/CPR/AED for the Schools, Community, & Workplace
  • Sports Safety Training
  • Babysitter’s Training.
