Red Cross offers a variety of Health & Safety trainingBabysitting CoursesThis 12-hour course is designed for children ages 11-15. It certifies future babysitters in infant and child CPR techniques as well as First Aid basics. Class members become prepared to handle medical emergencies, basic childcare (diapering, meal preparation and discipline) and babysitting for $50.Courses are taught throughout the summer at the Red Cross chapter and during the school year through Provo City Parks & Recreation. Instructor CourseA 26-hour course. This course is required for anyone interested in teaching any of the American Red Cross Health & Safety classes. Current certification in CPR and First Aid is required. This course includes all instructor and participant manuals. Candidates receive 2 different certifications; CPR for the Professional and CPR/FA/AED for the Layperson. Classes are held approximately 6 times each year. Call (801) 373-8580 for dates and times. Fee = $250Emergency ResponseThis 56-hour course is comparable to EMT level (without ambulance or pharmaceutical training). This is our most advanced class. It is taught 2 times each year on an as-needed basis. Call for dates and times. If a course is not yet scheduled, you may place your name on a waiting list. Fee = $250Sport Safety TrainingThis course prepares individuals for working with athletes and the emergencies that are most common among sports and recreation areas. Classes are taught on an as-needed basis. To schedule your class, please contact us at (801) 373-8580.Workplace ModulesThese courses are each designed to be taught in the workplace in one hour. They include such topics as; Heart Matters, Ergonomics, Slips Trips & Falls, Back Injury Prevention, Workplace Violence and Stress Prevention. The cost is $10 per student.
