All classes are FREE!

The following classes will train you how to be a Red Cross Disaster Volunteer. They will prepare you to respond to disasters both locally and nationally. All classes are held at 865 N. Freedom Blvd., Provo unless otherwise informed.

The "Introduction to Disaster Services" course is the prerequisite for all courses. An * indicates the class has prerequisites.

Disaster Course Schedule

Introduction to Disaster (INTRO)-

This online course provides information about disasters and the role Red Cross Disaster Services plays. This course is a prerequisite for all other disaster classes. Please print the last page to verify completion. Click here to begin: Introduction to Disaster Services

Fulfilling our Mission (FOM)-

Learn how to translate care and compassion into action through the Red Cross.

Mass Care-

This course prepares individuals to feed disaster victims and establish shelters. Prerequisites: INTRO and FOM

Client Case Work-

Family services provides victims with vouchers for essentials they have lost. Participants learn how to properly distribute donated dollars. Prerequisites: INTRO and FOM

Logistics-

This course deals with managing the supplies needed and used by the Red Cross in a disaster. Prerequisites: INTRO

Shelter Operations/Simulation-

These courses teach participants how to establish and manage temporary shelters. You must take the Operations course before the Simulation course. Prerequisites: INTRO, Mass Care

Disaster Assessment-

This course prepares participants to assess building damage. Prerequisites: INTRO, online segment

ERV Driving-

Delivering essential Red Cross services to affected people is the purpose of the ERV (Emergency Response Vehicle. Prerequisites: INTRO, Mass Care
